(Image above: ON FRIDAY, STUDENTS LED “POSITIVE VALUES DAY” )
Tahoma’s values of community and student leadership were on full display Friday for “Positive Values Day”. There was a student speak-out, student performances, and student-led classroom sessions on our Core Characteristics: compassion, courage, curiosity, integrity, respect, and responsibility. We’re proud of our student leaders – and of all our students who demonstrate these characteristics every day!
Next week is our February break, and for most students this is an important week for making progress on their PLP (personalized learning plans). This weekend parents and students should sit down side-by-side and look at your student’s PLP on the Summit Learning Platform. Then follow these steps:
1. Look at the “Year” tab – what’s been accomplished? What’s overdue? What’s coming next?
2. Look at the “Progress” tab – what are the student’s current grades? What has the student accomplished in the last week?
3. Look at the “Week” tab – what are the student’s plans for the week ahead?
We need parent drivers for our college study trips. If you have already signed-up, thank you! If not, join us as we visit various college campuses around California and learn what they have to offer. Trips for 9th-11th grades are the week of April 15. Please contact your student’s mentor for more information and to sign-up.
