New students gather Monday morning, including our Class of 2020.

Dear Families,

We're thrilled to kick-off the school year with our newest 9th-11th graders today!  They're a dynamic addition to our vibrant school community.  We invite all of our families to Back to School Night this Thursday at 6:30.  It's an opportunity to spend time with your student's mentor and learn more about Tahoma's priorities for the year.

Please help us recruit our last group of 9th graders to reach 100.  Ninth grade mentor groups are engaged in a two-week recruitment competition, with the winning group earning a pizza party!  Forming a fully enrolled 9th grade class ensures a strong school culture for their four years of high school, helps our school receive full funding from the State, and ensures a college opportunity for a greater number of San Jose students.

Thank you to those parents who've already volunteered to help with our camping trip, which is an amazing opportunity for our students to build community together.  We still need about 40 more drivers!  Here's how you can help:
-Turn in your driver forms found in the summer mailer ASAP.
-Complete our Driver/Volunteer Sign Up Form online (see links below).
-If you have questions, attend our next Drivers' Meeting Monday, August 12, 6:30 PM at Tahoma.
-Drive from Tahoma to Little Basin State Park on August 25 at 8:00 AM, returning August 26 at 11:00 AM.
-Contact our camping trip volunteer coordinator, Narumi Tashiro with questions.
