Promising Renewal Meeting

We showed our vitality!  Last Wednesday our school community presented its charter renewal application to the Santa Clara County Board of Education.  Our entire school is greatly appreciative to the dozens of Tahoma families who attended and publicly spoke in support of Tahoma.  Mr. Kim engaged in questions and discussion with the board.  The board expressed its pride in having authorized Summit Tahoma five years ago and publicly recognized our strengths.  Board member Joseph Di Salvo commented, "This board should tell the story of Summit Tahoma.  We voted for them to exist, and I'm glad we did."

 Another member, Michael Chang said,
“I was impressed.  Your results speak for themselves.  100% go to college.  That comes from the hard work of the school, parents, teachers, and students.  What really impressed me is you’re not just doing this academically, but you really provide a well all-around education.”

On December 9 we'll return for the decision hearing.  Again we'll need families to attend and show support for Tahoma.  We'll provide more information soon.  We're optimistic the board will renew our charter for another five years and we can't help but wonder: What special accomplishments will the next five years bring?
