Last Week of School !

As the year closes, we want to acknowledge and thank all of our Tahoma families.  It was families who led the effort to start our school more than five years ago, families who have helped us grow and become an established school, and families whose continued involvement helps create our vibrant school community.  There will be several opportunities for families to come together over the summer, including our new family welcome, camping committee meeting, and facility work days, so please continue to check your inboxes.

Next year we're adding two additional teachers and two additional tutors to our faculty, providing students with additional guidance to develop the skills and habits they need to succeed.  We're shifting our daily schedule next year to maximize students' learning opportunities with these additional faculty members.  Our instructional day will be 8:30-3:40, with four 90-minute instructional blocks each day. Here are key benefits of the proposed schedule:
    - Adds 15 minutes of instructional minutes for students while providing a more consistent prep schedule for teachers
    - Provides more time for after school support (rather than before school), when more students attend
-More closely aligns with earlier start times of other Summit Schools

You can review the details here.  Last week at our PIVOT meeting and through phone calls to a range of parents, parents expressed positive opinions about the benefits of the new schedule.

There are just a few days left of the school year!  It's essential that families are aware of what coursework students need to complete in order to pass their current grade and matriculate to the next grade. This PLP Training presentation provides a helpful guide for accessing the PLP. Please see the calendar below for the special events happening this week.
