Camping Trip!

We appreciate all the families who attended last Thursday's Back to School Night!  We were pleased to welcome families into our classrooms and provide an opportunity for teachers, mentors, and families to connect and learn about the year's academic program.

Please help us recruit our last group of 9th and 10th graders to reach 100 in each grade.  Ninth grade mentor groups are engaged in a two-week recruitment competition, with the winning group earning a pizza party!  Forming a fully enrolled 9th grade class ensures a strong school culture for their four years of high school, helps our school receive full funding from the State, and ensures a college opportunity for a greater number of San Jose students.  

Thursday and Friday we go to Little Basin campground for our spirited camping trip!  We leave Tahoma at 8:00 AM Thursday.  At the campsite, students will engage in afternoon activities and an evening talent show.  Friday morning, students compete in Mentor Olympics.  We'll be back at Tahoma at 12:30 PMFriday.  Please pick up students at that time.  School closes Friday at 1:00 PM. (If you can't pick up your student by 1:00 PM, please call the office in advance to make arrangements.) Students should follow this packing list.  The weather will be cool.  We're happy to report that we have all the volunteer drivers we need!  But we still welcome monetary donations and need families to lend extra sleeping bags and tents to their mentor groups.  For drivers:
     -Turn in your driver forms ASAP.
     -If you have questions, attend our next Drivers' Meeting tonightAugust 22 at 6:30 PM
